Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to identify the most important obstacles that stand in the way of the progress of the Bahraini national basketball team. Many questions arose in the researcher's mind about the nature of these obstacles, the order of importance of these obstacles, and how each obstacle influences the progress of the Bahraini national team. To reveal these obstacles, the researcher used scanning methodology as it suits the aim of this study. Having passed through many pilot studies, the researcher designed a questionnaire covering everything related to the basketball domain in A.R.E. and the state of Bahraini. It fixed a few domains, i.e., the socio-administrative domain, the technical domain, the psychological domain, the health domain, and the publicity domain. The most important result the researcher achieved was complete cooperation between all concerned departments in sports affairs in general and in the basketball domain, namely the General Association for Basketball, the Olympic Committee, and the ministry of education and the Bahraini Federation for basketball is a must. Furthermore, the above mentioned organization must adopt some planning programs and administrative follow-up to the Bahraini basketball in general and the Bahraini national team in special.
