التلوث النفسي وعلاقته بالاضطرابات السيكوسوماتية لدى المطلقين في مملكة البحرين

Abstract

Abstract : This study investigated the relationship between psychological contamination and psychosomatic disorders among 122 divorced individuals in Bahrain, examining differences by gender, divorce duration, age, and presence of children. Results showed high levels of psychological contamination, with psychological pollution being the most prominent and self-image contamination the least. Psychosomatic symptoms were mainly related to autonomic nervous system functioning. Significant positive correlations existed between all dimensions of contamination and psychosomatic disorders, with self-image contamination being the strongest predictor. Women reported higher levels of psychological contamination than men, while other demographic variables had no significant effect. The study highlights the importance of counseling programs focusing on self-image, stress management, and social support, and recommends longitudinal research to monitor these phenomena over time.
