Abstract
ABSTRACT : In recent years, there has been an interest in private participation infrastructure. Lately, this interest has spread to airports, which are major employers in many communities and directly affect thousands of airlines and millions of passengers every day. Even airports that are wholly government-owned or privatized are being run as competitive businesses with a clear profit motivation. The broad purpose of this research is to examine whether the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) is functioning efficiently. The purpose should be achieved through the following: identifying the existing problems in the functioning of CAA, evaluating the existing price structure concerning aeronautical revenues, determining the viability of privatizing the CAA, and determining the future financial impact. Secondary data is collected through an audited financial statement and annual statistical movement reports. Primary data is collected through a questionnaire survey at the arrival area of Bahrain International Airport (BAA).
