| Abstract | ABSTRACT : Subject of Study: The effect using Rubber Ropes in water on some of the physical and kinematics variables associated with freestyle swimming for young swimmers in Kingdom of Bahrain. By: Sawsan Haji Taqawi Supervised by: Dr. Amal Jaber Metwally Dr. Mahmoud Ebrahim Shuber Ass. Lecturer, Bio Mechanics Ass't Lecturer, Sports Coaching Bahrain University Head of Physical Education Department Bahrain University The study aims at identifying the effects of training using rubber ropes in water on some of the physical and kinematics variables associated with freestyle swimming and finding out the rate of improvement in those variables for young swimming in Kingdom of Bahrain. In the light of the current study requirements, the researcher had used descriptive procedure using the kinematics analysis to show the study variables; and the experimental procedure using of its designs which is the before and after measure for one experimental group, a sample for the research was chosen by intentional procedure and represented by 8 swimmers from the youth national team 12-15 yrs old in Bahrain federation for swimming who are registered in the federation's records and the researcher also used television filming and kinematics analysis to gather the research data. Based on the results of training using rubber ropes in water and within the procedures of the study, improvements had been noticed in the following: 1. Joints Flexibility associated with freestyle stroke for 25m. 2. Bursting power of age group 12-15 yrs. 3. Time and velocity in swimming various distances (first 5m, 15m, last 5m, overall 25m). 4. Kinematics variables in the arm rotation for the number of arm rotation, average length of arm rotation in various distances (first 5m, 15m, last 5m, overall 25m). 5. Kinematics variables of leg stroke for the skill under consideration for the number of leg strokes, average length of leg stroke in the first 5m distance, and average time of leg stroke in the various distance (first 5m, overall 25m). 6. Repetition rate of the leg stroke in various distances (first 5m, 15m, overall 25m). 7. Velocity of leg stroke in all the various distances (first 5m, 15m, last 5m, overall 25m) in favor of dimensional measure. The study of training using rubber ropes in water has improved the physical abilities with different rations and the higher improvement rates are according to the following sequence: 1. Thigh joint flexibility at a rate of 16.51% degree. 2. Flexibility of shoulders joints at rate of 8.87% degree. 3. Left foot ankle flexibility at a rate of 8.65% degree in contraction. movement. 4. Left Hand wrist flexibility at a rate of 3.86% degree in contraction movement. 5. Vertical jump test at a rate of 6.59%cm. Also the training using rubber ropes in water improved some kinematics variables associated with skill under consideration are according to the following sequencer: 1. Average leg repetition at a rate of 21.58%. 2. Average stroke at a rate of 21.09% sec. 3. Average length of arm rotation at a rate of 16.19% m/rotation. 4. Number of arm rotation at a rate of 15.52% rotation. 5. Velocity of leg stroke at a rate of 12.30% m/ rotation. 6. The velocity at a rate of 12.30% m/ sec. 7. Time at a rate of 11.54% sec. All these improvement ration has been achieved in the first 5m, while the improvement in the remaining race distances were at different ration; al indicates positive effect resulted from training using rubber ropes in water, and the results showed that higher ratios of improvement were at the first 5m distance compared with other race distances. The researcher recommends using rubber ropes as a method for training in water in order to increase kinematics range of the joints of (hand wrist, shoulder joint, thigh joint, and foot ankle joint), and a way of training to develop the muscular power, and to improve velocity of arm rotations, length of arm rotation, and velocity of arms rotation, and to improve the legs. | |
