Abstract

Abstract: This study reported here is intended to address the range of topics correlated with developing the love of the Prophet (Allah's Peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and his companions.) within the scope of Islamic Education syllabus in the schools of the Kingdom of Bahrain. In order to achieve this end, the researcher posts the following two questions: 1. Which of the Islamic topics are appropriate for adolescent which are directly related to the development of devotion to the Prophet (PBUH) and that are recommended to be integrated in the content of the Islamic Education syllabi of the preparatory level 2. What of these topics related to the developing devotion to the Prophet (PBUH) in the content of the Islamic Education syllabi of preparatory level? What are their relative proportions? The specimen of the study is based on original society i.e. Islamic Education Books for the preparatory stage: mainly for (Grades 1, 2, and 3) for the school year 1425/1426 of Hijrah. The specimen comprises the above mentioned three books and including 1625 paragraphs. The researcher listed all topics associated with developing attachment to the prophet in preparatory level. The result is based on the outcome of an open questionnaire directed to specialized scholars in the area, reviewing Islamic educational literature and other studies in areas of devotion to the prophet (PBUH). The study takes on a descriptive approach to analyze the content which, pertains paragraphs as units for analysis as adopted in analyzing the topics of "love of the prophet (SAAW), it handles a basic category in analyzing the topics embodied in the three books -the focus of this study. The analysis list consists of four main areas in developing the love of the Prophet (PBUH): The concept of devotion to the prophet (PBUH), his miracles, his supreme position among other messengers, and his love and mercy to his Ummah. Each area includes a number of topics (about 40 topics). The analysis list was applied on the study's population, where the topics of the books were classified to paragraphs which reached 1625 paragraphs. The result, post analysis and recycling statistic calculation, was as follows: 1. only 449 paragraphs out of 1625 in the three Islamic Education syllabus are associated with the "love of the prophet (SAAW), a percentage of 27.6%. The syllabus of 3rd preparatory book comes first with a percentage of 36%, followed bylst and 2nd Preparatory books with a percentage of 32%. 2. Most of the topics about the "love of the prophet (SAAW), in the preparatory syllabi are connected with (praising and invoke blessings on the prophet (SAAW)), praising appeared in 228 paragraphs with a percentage of 14% that exceeds half of the total percentage i.e 27.7%. 3. The syllabus of 3rd preparatory is found to be more relevant to the analysis list's elements than the others and gains the first in rating with a relative weight of (..36), the other two books come second on rating with a relative weight of (..32).
