Abstract
Abstract : The rate discovery and the increasing rapid dissemination of new more knowledge demand that educational systems seek effective and efficient instructional procedures. The proper use of educational technology can enhance instructional effectiveness. The examination of educational technology programmes provided in the University College of Bahrain has revealed that this has not yet been accepted as a hardware approach is used, whilst the communication appropriate, courses are considered not as currently despite the fact that educational technology is not confined to audiovisual aids rather it implies the design of effective learning procedures. The main concern in this study has been to construct a model for the application and promotion of educational technology, including the required media services for university education in Bahrain. The model emerged from a thorough review of literature covering various aspects of the educational technology and communication fields, from an analysis of two questionnaires one distributed among staff of the University College of Bahrain, advisors and teachers from Ministry of Education and the other distributed among the university and secondary school students, an analysis of interviews with selected higher Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information officials and senior University College of Bahrain staff together with a review of educational technology programmes in the University College of Bahrain. The model has three phases, with the provision of courses and services growing from one phase to the next. The model system contains objectives, content of the courses to be provided, the responsibilities and function for suggested posts, the physical facilities together with an evaluation programme.
