فاعلية برنامج إرشادي جدلي سلوكي لرفع مستوى الرضا الزواجي لدى عينة من المتزوجات في مملكة البحرين

Abstract

Abstract : The current study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a dialectical behavioral counseling program in raising the level of marital satisfaction among a sample of wives in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design with a single group, pre-, post-, and follow-up measurements. The study sample included ten (10) married women. The training program included twelve (12) counseling sessions, in addition to introductory and closing sessions, and four sessions via the Zoom electronic platform, at a rate of three sessions per week. Each session lasted between 60 and 120 minutes, and the program was implemented over a period of two months, for a total of 18 training sessions. The researcher used the Marital Satisfaction Scale (prepared by the researcher), whose psychometric properties were verified in terms of validity and reliability using Pearson's correlation coefficient with the total score and measuring the internal stability of the scale dimensions using Cronbach's alpha The counseling program was applied to raise the level of marital satisfaction. After completing the program and the post-measurement, the results were statistically processed using the SPSS statistical package. The Mann-Whitney U test was also applied to calculate the differences between the group's average pre-measurement and post-measurement scores. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the group's responses to the pre- and post-test marital satisfaction scales in the emotional, recreational, intimate, economic, moral, and religious dimensions. This difference is attributed to the implementation of a counseling program to raise the level of marital satisfaction among a sample of wives. The results also confirmed the presence of convergence in the statistically significant differences between the group's responses to the post-test marital satisfaction scale and their responses to the follow-up marital satisfaction scale, except for the recreational dimension, where the statistical significance level increased. This indicates the effectiveness of a counseling program based on dialectical behavioral therapy and some family counseling theories in raising the level of marital satisfaction and enhancing marital compatibility among a sample of wives in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The researcher recommended the design of similar family counseling programs for those visiting family reconciliation offices, and for them to be approved by the Sharia court and those working in the field of family counseling.
