| Abstract | Abstract : The resonance properties of bubbles are considered in this thesis. First, the oscillation of the gas bubble is studied, and the resonance frequency of that bubble is investigated by linearizing the radius of the bubble. It is assumed that the pressure is uniform inside the bubble, but that will not be the case for the temperature, which allows us to investigate analytical solutions for the pressure and temperature amplitudes using the perturbation method. The calculation of the temperature profile inside an oscillating gas bubble is studied, and it is investigated to be nonmonotonic. Also, the velocity profile of a gas bubble is determined to be almost linear. The dynamics of a soluble gas bubble in liquid, controlled by diffusion, is considered later in this thesis by using the basic equations that describe the behavior of a soluble gas in liquid. It is shown that this problem can be reduced to a problem of vapor dynamics with phase transitions. A formula is also obtained for the second resonance of a soluble gas bubble The capillary effects and diffusion taken together are shown to produce a new resonant frequency of small soluble gas bubbles, which differs from that described by Minnaert | |
